Sept. 19 (UPI) — A North Carolina man scored a $130,000 jackpot from a Cash 5 lottery drawing just days before his 40th birthday.

Clinton resident Corey Hamilton told North Carolina Education Lottery officials he stopped at the Han-Dee Hugo’s on Southeast Boulevard in Clinton and bought a Quick Pick ticket for the Tuesday night drawing.

Hamilton said he checked the drawing results in the early morning hours.

“I woke up at 3:30 and I was like, ‘Wait a second that can’t be right,'” Hamilton said.

Hamilton scored a $130,000 jackpot.

“I don’t even know how to describe the feeling,” he said. “I just always felt that if it’s meant to be, then it’s meant to be.”

He said the win was perfectly timed.

“It has kind of all lined up since I turn 40 on Saturday,” he said.
