‘My Focus Is Here’: Teenage Hadebe Speaks on Joining Scottland FC

Warriors defender Teenage Hadebe has dismissed growing speculation linking him with a move to Scottland Football Club. He insists his focus remains firmly on his Major League Soccer (MLS) side, FC Cincinnati.

Gift to Sakupwanya Sparks Transfer Speculation

Rumours erupted after Hadebe handed Lionel Messi’s jersey to Scott Sakupwanya, owner of Zimbabwe’s reigning domestic champions. The gesture fuelled suggestions that a transfer could be on the cards.

However, Hadebe clarified that the exchange was merely an acknowledgement of Sakupwanya’s investment in raising standards in local football.

“I admire what he has done — he’s made his team match international standards in everything they do. It’s clear for everyone to see that things are being done correctly, and it’s now up to other teams to match that so our football improves immensely,” said Hadebe.

Defender Makes Intentions Clear

Following mounting speculation, the former Kaizer Chiefs and Houston Dynamo defender responded directly to the rumours.

“My focus is here now. Maybe in the future we can see how it goes. You know how football rolls — you can’t predict the future — but at the moment I am certain that I will be focusing on staying here. Only God knows the seasons, and time will tell,” he said.

Cincinnati Move to Secure His Future

According to H-Metro, FC Cincinnati have already exercised an extension clause in Hadebe’s contract, which was due to expire at the end of this month.

A source close to the player confirmed his desire to remain in the United States.

Teenage feels truly at home in Cincinnati. The project here is ambitious, and he sees himself as a fundamental part of its future. He has built a strong connection with the coaches, his teammates, and the fans. This wasn’t a difficult decision — it was the natural next step,” the source said.

Bright Future in MLS

With his immediate future resolved, Hadebe is expected to continue as a key figure in Cincinnati’s defensive setup as the club intensifies its push for further success in the MLS.
