MTN has introduced that Ghanaian tax authorities have withdrawn the tax liability case they’d leveled towards the pan-African telco on 13 January, 2023. The Ghana income authority had slapped MTN Ghana with a GHS8.2 billion (~$665 million) positive, citing unpaid again taxes.
In an announcement printed on the Johannesburg Inventory Trade information service (SENS) of February 3,2023, MTN acknowledged that the withdrawal got here after intensive discussions between itself and the related Ghanaian authorities.
“Shareholders are suggested that following intensive and productive discussions held throughout this 21-day interval between MTN Ghana, MTN and related authorities in Ghana, the GRA has on 03 February 2023 absolutely withdrawn the [tax liability] evaluation,” the assertion learn.
