Mozambique: Arbitrary Arrests, Teargassing and Brutal Assault of Peaceable Protesters a Violation of the Proper Freedom of Meeting

In response to the violent repression of nationwide peaceable protests to recollect the fallen musician Azagaia by the Mozambican police, together with beating up of protesters, teargassing and focusing on organizers for his or her function in organizing the rallies, Amnesty Worldwide’s Deputy Director for East and Southern Africa, Emerlynn Gill, mentioned:

Background

Mozambican youths have been collaborating in licensed nationwide peaceable demonstrations in 5 provinces, together with in Maputo, to recollect the fallen artist, Azagaia.
