France full-back Melvyn Jaminet has been hit with a 34-week suspension by the French Rugby Federation after he posted a video of himself making a racist comment earlier this month.

The Toulon participant, capped 20 occasions by his nation, was instantly suspended and despatched house from France’s tour of Argentina.

An FFR disciplinary council was held on Friday, with it decided Jaminet must also be fined 30,000 euros (£25,000).

The 25-year-old’s 34-week ban might be decreased by eight weeks if he takes half in prevention actions.

Jaminet – who the FFR says has “harmed the most effective pursuits” of the game – has as much as seven days to launch an enchantment.

He had issued an apology shortly after his suspension on July 7 was introduced, saying on Instagram: “I perceive that this has damage and offended many individuals, and I wish to make it clear that these remarks don’t mirror my values or these of the French rugby workforce.

“Racism in any kind is unacceptable and goes towards the whole lot I imagine in.”
