Some civil society teams have demanded parliament to withdraw a movement summoning Excessive Court docket Choose Ken Manda over his ruling on the sale of a filling station in Lilongwe, saying Parliament was overstepping its mandate.

Parliament handed a movement final week to summon Justice Manda to seem earlier than Authorized affairs committee of Parliament.

The Civil Society Organizations; Malawi Civil Society Led Black Financial Empowerment Motion (MaBLEM), Human Rights Consultative Committee (HRCC) and Discussion board for Nationwide Improvement (FND), have mentioned this at a Press briefing in Lilongwe.

Fryson Chodzi, Discussion board for Nationwide Improvement Chairperson has described the Judgement by Choose Manda in Alfred Gangata and Gerson Mkweza case as acceptable ‘duly’.

The CSO leaders have additionally blamed Gerson Mkweza Managing Director of Gam Fuels fuel station, for appearing inappropriate by snatching Automotive keys from Gangata.
