Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye is on the brink of breaking his personal Udinese record for the longest time without conceding a goal when they face Parma this weekend, Soccernet.ng reports.

Okoye has been brilliant for Udinese this season. He has cemented his spot as the undisputed number one and has maintained remarkable consistency for the club.

Last week, he produced one of his best displays of the campaign, helping the Bianconeri claim a historic 3-0 win over former Serie A champions AC Milan.

Okoye made three crucial saves in that victory, one of which earned him significant praise from Nigerian fans. In fact, supporters have begun clamoring for him to replace Stanley Nwabali as the Super Eagles’ first-choice shot-stopper.

Meanwhile, the former Sparta Rotterdam goalie will be looking to end the campaign on a high note with six games left to play.

Udinese return to action this weekend against Parma at the Bluenergy Stadium (Stadio Friuli), where they will be looking to secure all three points. Simultaneously, Okoye could set a new personal milestone at the club.

Going into the game against Parma, Udinese will be highly motivated to secure the maximum three points while playing in front of their home fans.

For Super Eagles star Maduka Okoye, the match offers a chance to break his personal best for the longest period without conceding a goal at Udinese.

His record for minutes without conceding in Serie A currently stands at 354 minutes (approximately three and a half games). Currently, he has kept a clean sheet for 322 consecutive minutes following matches against Genoa, Como, and AC Milan.

Consequently, if he prevents Parma from scoring in the opening 33 minutes, he will have surpassed his previous career best.

Okoye has grown by leaps and bounds over the past two years at Udinese. He is playing with immense confidence, avoiding errors, and establishing himself as a leader within the squad. As he continues to shine for the club, it is likely only a matter of time before a larger European side attempts to sign him.
