Lee Mauras, a former Hempstead Excessive Faculty wrestling standout at present competing for the Clackamas Neighborhood School, has died.
Mauras, of Freeport, was killed in a taking pictures incident in Portland, Oregon aged simply 22. He leaves behind one baby.
Lee was a wrestling star all via Excessive Faculty, competing for Freeport Excessive Faculty and Hempstead Excessive Faculty. He was a four-time Nassau County medalist/3x finalist/back-to-back titlist in 2019 (for Freeport) and 2020 (for Hempstead).
Mauras was educated on the Savage Wrestling Academy.
After competing at Iowa Central for the 2024 season, Mauras made a dedication to Clackamas Neighborhood School Wrestling for the continued season. He was getting ready to compete for Clackamas within the NJCAA in Portland when he was tragically shot and killed.

His household began a GoFundMe to boost cash to struggle for justice in his title with reference to his killing.
