Lagos cracks down on supermarkets with out worth tags: Fines, shutdowns loom

The Lagos State Client Safety Company (LASCOPA) is flexing its muscle, directing all supermarkets and grocery shops inside the state to make sure clear worth tags on all merchandise. Failure to conform will end in hefty fines and even closure, the company warned.

This directive, introduced on the Lagos State government web site, comes as a part of LASCOPA’s ongoing efforts to guard shopper rights and guarantee transparency in pricing. Afolabi Solebo, LASCOPA’s Basic Supervisor, emphasised that the absence of worth tags is a transparent violation of each shopper rights and the Lagos State Client Safety Company Regulation.
