Kenyan police hunt for church thief

Police within the Kenyan capital says they’re on the lookout for a church warden suspected of stealing 1.5 million shillings – $12,400/£11,240 – that members had collected to develop the church.

Police suspect the thief broke into the ACK All Saints Mountain View church constructing in Kangemi, on the outskirts of Nairobi.

He then took the cash from a drawer contained in the altar.

The treasurer of the constructing and a member of the congregation was “stunned and shocked” on Monday morning. They’d come to gather the sizeable proceeds of the gathering and found the inside of the church ransacked. The cash was gone.

In a press release, the Legal Investigation Division mentioned their preliminary investigations indicated that the church caretaker was the primary suspect in the intervening time.
