Bruce Bvuma’s season has been quiet in terms of match action for Kaizer Chiefs, but the goalkeeper insists his focus remains firmly on the bigger picture.

The 30-year-old has yet to play a competitive minute this campaign, with Brandon Petersen locking down the number one jersey across the Betway Premiership, Carling Knockout Cup and CAF Confederation Cup.

BRUCE BVUMA PRIORITISES KAIZER CHIEFS RESULTS

Petersen’s form has been hard to ignore, registering 11 clean sheets from 22 appearances. For Bvuma, though, personal frustration has taken a back seat to team progress.

“For me, playing for Kaizer Chiefs is great, whether I’m playing or not, if the team is doing well, I’m happy,” said Bvuma.

Despite being on the sidelines, he believes the squad is moving in the right direction and that environment matters more than individual minutes right now.

“What keeps me going is that I’m still a Kaizer Chiefs player and I’m very happy because we’re getting the results that we want as a team and the team is growing. That’s what is important right now,” Bvuma added.

NEDBANK CUP ACTION

Following Sunday’s 1-0 win over ZESCO United in the CAF Confederation Cup, Amakhosi are switching focus to the Nedbank Cup.

Kaizer Chiefs are travelling to the Western Cape to battle Stellenbosch FC in the Nedbank Cup last 32. The game is set for the DHL Stadium on Wednesday at 19:00.
