And now, new information regarding a blocked European move for one of their star players has come to light!

Kaizer Chiefs sold their captain Yusuf Maart to Austrian side SV Ried in the off-season.

Now, according to new reports, Mduduzi Shabalala was also wanted in Austria!

The Glamour Boys however reportedly issued a hands-off warning to FK Austria Wien.

“Yes, there was interest from a team in Europe but Kaizer Chiefs were not ready to release the player at that point, and that’s why the deal didn’t go through. But it’s true, the interest was there for Mdu (Shabalala),” an insider told Soccer Laduma.

Shabalala has already featured in all three league games for Kaizer Chiefs this season. The 21-year-old attacker is believed to be an important player for the club.
