Turkish Super Lig club Trabzonspor are sweating over the fitness of Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu, Soccernet.ng reports.

Onuachu has been a key player for the Black Sea Storm this season, contributing 24 goals and two assists in 28 appearances across all competitions. He has proven to be a reliable goal poacher, accounting for over 39 percent of Trabzonspor’s goals in the Turkish Super Lig.

Due to his brilliance in the final third, Trabzonspor are genuine contenders for the league title – their first real title race since the 2021/22 campaign. The Cimbom currently sit third on the Super Lig table, four points behind leaders Galatasaray.

However, while the Super Eagles star has been the man making their attacking problems go away, he is now the subject of a lot of concern at the club. This is because he is dealing with an injury.

Recall that he missed Trabzonspor’s last game against Alanyaspor at the Alanya Oba Stadium last weekend, and they eventually dropped points for the first time since the middle of April when Fenerbahce defeated them 2-1 at Papara Park.

But unfortunately for them, the 31-year-old striker’s situation is still unsure.

According to a reports from Superhaber, Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu is a source of serious concern for Trabzonspor. The big striker has an injury in his thigh, and as a result, Trabzonspor have put him under intensive care.

The problem with this injury is that it seems to be touch and go, as no official return date has been confirmed for the former Southampton man.

Losing Onuachu at the time could be dire for Trabzonspor, as he has been Trabzonspor’s best player this year. In fact, he is the reason they are in contention for a Champions League spot or even the Super Lig title.

As it stands, the 31-year-old is a big doubt for the Black Sea Storm’s game against Basaksehir on Sunday. That game is a very big game for Trabzonspor, and dropping points in that game would be really bad.

With five games left to play, Trabzonspor will be hoping to have Onuachu back in action as soon as possible to spearhead a solid finish in the Super Lig.
