A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe has reacted to a viral video in which notorious ESN Commander, Ifeanyi Eze Okorienta popularly Known as “Gentle De Yahoo” and other alleged IPOB associates announced an end to the controversial sit-at-home order in the South-East.

In a strongly worded Facebook post following the circulation of the video, Igbokwe criticized the individuals behind the directive, describing them as unfit to have dictated the affairs of the region for years.

“These are the compound illiterates and vagabonds who seized Igboland for 15 years,” Igbokwe wrote, expressing frustration over what he characterized as prolonged disruption and economic hardship inflicted on the South-East.

The sit-at-home order, which began as a protest strategy, has over time drawn widespread debate, with many residents and leaders decrying its impact on businesses, schools and daily life across the region. While enforcement and compliance have varied, the directive has often resulted in reduced economic activity on designated days, alongside reports of intimidation and violence in some communities.

The recent video announcement declaring an end to the exercise has generated mixed reactions among stakeholders. Some residents welcomed the development, expressing hope that it would restore normalcy and revive struggling local economies. Others, however, questioned the authority of those making the declaration and whether the order would indeed cease entirely.
