Nura Manu, governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State, has unveiled plans to establish a N100 billion development fund aimed at boosting agriculture and small-scale enterprises in the state if elected governor.

Manu, who is seeking the party’s ticket ahead of the APC governorship primaries scheduled for May 21, disclosed this while speaking with journalists after his screening exercise in Abuja.

The APC has been screening its aspirants for various offices as part of preparations for the 2027 general elections. The screening exercise was concluded on Sunday.

Manu described the screening process as engaging and productive, noting that members of the committee asked detailed questions about his plans for the state.

“The committee engagement has been interactive and we have interacted. They asked a lot of questions and we gave the answers as far as we could,” he said.

Speaking on his proposed N100 billion fund, Manu clarified that the initiative was not intended for security operations but for economic development.

“Well, the N100 billion I am talking about is not for security. It is a N100 billion fund I am planning to bring for the state. It is meant to support the commercialisation of agriculture and small-scale enterprises. It is part of my three-point agenda for the state,” he stated.

The APC aspirant also dismissed reports suggesting that a consensus arrangement was being considered ahead of the primaries.

“Well, I am not aware of any consensus in Bauchi. I have been preparing for elections. I have no intention of stepping down for anybody, so I am not aware of that,” Manu added.
