Darlington Orji, one of many 23 newly sworn-in caretaker native authorities chairmen in Rivers State, on Wednesday, claimed that safety brokers denied him entry to the headquarters of the Ikwerre Native Authorities Space (LGA).

Orji, who was inaugurated as LG caretaker chairmen by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, said this throughout an interview on Channels TV.

When requested whether or not he has assumed workplace, the newly sworn-in caretaker chairman for Ikwerre LGA mentioned, “Upon swearing in at present, we have been requested to renew in order that we will swear in our members.

“I bought to Ikwerre Native Authorities Council and I noticed that it’s being barricaded by safety brokers, the police to be very exact.

“I requested a query and so they mentioned they have been appearing on the orders of the Inspector Basic of Police.

“That’s the state of affairs. I couldn’t entry the council as a result of I don’t wish to break the regulation. My duty is to make sure that there’s regulation and order and to ensure that my persons are protected.

“So, I wouldn’t wish to power myself towards the safety agent in order that I might not have any conflict with them. That’s the place in the mean time. The police barricaded the gate of the council. There is no such thing as a level for energy tussle. We’re engaged on it and we are going to see what to do about it.”
