Bafana Bafana have secured their spot in the Round of 16 at AFCON 2025 in Morocco – and they have banked some good money as a result.

South Africa beat Zimbabwe 3-2 on Monday evening in to finish as runners-up in Group B behind group winners Egypt.

Here’s how much qualifying for the knockout rounds was worth to Hugo Broos’s men.

BAFANA BAFANA IN THE MONEY

Bafana Bafana secured $800 000 (R13.4 million) as a result of booking their spot in the Round of 16.

At the time of publishing, Algeria, Nigeria, Egypt and South Africa have now booked their spots in the next round.

They will be joined by the top two teams from Group C to Group F as well as the four best third-placed finishers.

By finishing second in their group, Bafana Bafana will take on the runners-up in Group F which are likely to be Cameroon, but could also be Cote d’Ivoire or Mozambique.

In Group F, with a match to be played, Cameroon and defending champions Cote d’Ivoire are level on four points, while Mozambique are on three points which will turn the final evening into a scramble – even with Gabon already eliminated.
