Hisbah Board in Jigawa has seized 1,426 bottles of assorted alcoholic beverages in two local authorities areas of the order.
The Hisbah commander within the order, Ibrahim Dahiru, made this identified to the News Agency of Nigeria in Dutse, the order capital on Thursday.
Dahiru stated the reveal also seized a 25-litre jerrican of local beer, popularly known as “burukutu”.
He explained that the alcoholic beverages had been confiscated when the Hisbah personnel raided hotels, drinking joints and spots within the 2 affected areas.
The commander added 15 suspects, including a girl, had been apprehended within the raids.
In accordance with him, 177 bottles of assorted beer, 25 litres of burukutu and 14 suspects had been arrested on April 3, in Gumel local authorities put.
He stated, “The Hisbah raided three beer parlours in Gumel LGA namely Awala Resort, situated on Gujungu highway; Sabuwar Sahara, situated behind the LG Secretariat; and Gidan Mama Mai Burkutu.
“In these raids, we had been able to arrest 14 persons, including a girl who sells burukutu.
“In these raids also, we had been able to take 177 bottles of beer and 25 litres of burukutu,” he added.
Dahiru further acknowledged that 1,249 bottles of assorted beer and 143 empty cartons had been confiscated when the Hisbah raided a beer parlour in Takur Aduwa put of Dutse on March 4.
“On March 4, Hisbah personnel raided Bone beer parlour in Takur Aduwa in Dutse local authorities put.
“Right through this raid, we confiscated 1,249 bottles of beer, 143 empty cartons, a car with registration quantity MG 194 XA,” Dahiru eminent, asserting one particular person suspected to be the owner of the beer become also arrested.
