Hetal Vasavada’s Leftover Halloween Fudge

Published on

Is there ever such a thing as too much Halloween candy? Maybe not. But if you have plenty of extras, turn your candy bars into this rich, chocolaty fudge that feels equal parts indulgent and resourceful. This is perfect to give out during the holidays or bring into the office to share. —Hetal Vasavada, San Francisco, California

Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 3 cups milk or dark chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups candy bars, cut into 1/2-in. pieces
  • Sprinkles, optional

Shop Recipe

Directions

  1. Line an 8-in. square pan with parchment, extending edges over sides of the pan. Grease with cooking spray and set aside.
  2. In a small heavy saucepan, heat sweetened condensed milk, butter and salt over medium-low heat until warm. Stir in chips. Cook and stir until chips are melted (mixture will be thick). Remove from heat, stir in vanilla and 2 cups chopped candy bars. Pour into prepared pan.
  3. Garnish with remaining 1 cup chopped candy bars and sprinkles, if using.
  4. Let stand at room temperature until set, about 2 hours, before cutting into pieces. Store in an airtight container.
