Rassie Erasmus’s men opened their five-match tour with a win over Japan at Wembley Stadium and then beat France at the Stade de France last Saturday evening.

Next weekend, New Zealand’s James Doleman will have the whistle for the match.

He will be assisted by compatriot Ben O’Keeffe and France’s Jérémy Rozier.

France’s Tual Trainini will be the TMO, while another Frenchman, Eric Gauzins, will be the Foul Play Review Officer (FPRO).

Springboks’ Test record under James Doleman

Doleman, 34, has refereed the Springboks on two previous occasions, but never against Italy.

South Africa have a perfect record with Doleman in charge, having beaten Argentina back in 2022 and Australia during this year’s Rugby Championship.
