Head of Ethiopia’s Supreme Courtroom resigns

Head of Ethiopia’s Supreme courtroom, Meaza Ashenafi, and her deputy, Solomon Areda Waktolla “have resigned” from their place.

A letter to the Home of Folks’s Representatives (HoPR) on Tuesday didn’t state the rationale for his or her resignation, native media home Addis Customary reported. 

The Parliament has subsequently authorized Assistant Professor Tewdros Mihret, from Addis Abeba college as Chief Justice, and Federal Supreme Courtroom Decide, Abeba Embiale, as Deputy Chief Justice changing Meaza and Solomon respectively

Chief Justice Meaza and her deputy Solomon have been nominated by PM Abiy Ahmed to the Home of Folks’s Representatives (HPR) On 01 Nov. 2018. throughout which each have obtained a unanimous vote from the Home.

Solomon has not too long ago been appointed as a half-time choose of the United Nations Dispute Tribunal for the time period 2023-2030 by the United Nations Normal Meeting’s thirty fourth plenary assembly on the elections held on the fifteenth of November 2022 in New York
