“He needs to gets back” – Atalanta boss Juric makes Ademola Lookman demand amid club’s attacking woes

Ademola Lookman has not been involved in a goal for club and country since May 12…

Atalanta boss Ivan Juric has told Ademola Lookman that he needs him to return to his best, amid the club’s attacking struggles in recent weeks, Soccernet.ng reports.

La Dea have manage just two goals in their last four games, despite facing relatively weaker opponents. They huffed and puffed in all those games, but they just lacked the vital cutting edge in the final third.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles forward Lookman, has regained his place in the starting eleven after the drama that ensued at the start of the season due to his inability to get his desired move.

But he is yet to get a goal or an assist in his six appearances this season. In fact, he has not been involved in any goal since May 12, in a Serie A fixture against AS Roma.

This is a terrible run for a player like Lookman, as he is often the x-factor for his team, whether at international or club level.

Atalanta coach Juric understands the importance of Lookman to the team, and he has urged the Super Eagles star to find his mojo.

“Lookman was working hard to get into shape. Now, aware of his qualities, we’re pushing to get him playing immediately and at his best,” Juric said.

“He’s proven to be incredibly strong. I think the team created at least 30-40 situations for him where he’s usually devastating, but now he needs to get back into form.

“The team provides him with the balls and the chances, but I’m confident that with this kind of play he’ll soon unlock his potential,” the Croatian tactician added.

The Super Eagles Also Need Ademola Lookman To Return To His Best

Atalanta have not been the only ones having issues with Ademola Lookman’s dip in form. He has also been struggling with the Super Eagles.

His last three games were disappointing. And perhaps, it was even a blessing that he was suspended for the game against Benin, which Nigeria won 4-0.

Ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoffs in November, coach Eric Chelle will be hoping that Lookman returns to his best, as he could be key for Nigeria.

If the former Leicester City man does not start racking up the goals and assists for Atalanta, it would not be out of place to question his position as a starter, especially after what Samuel Chukwueze did against Benin last time out.
