Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara has appointed 250 extra political appointees, bringing the number to 1,700.
The director-general on Political Affairs and Inter-Party Relations, Mikailu Aliyu, while addressing journalists in Gusau, the notify capital, acknowledged the appointment was to relieve governance in the notify.
Mr Aliyu acknowledged the rationale in the support of the appointment was to be optimistic that factual governance reached the grassroots and communities.
He acknowledged that since the inception of the administration, the governor had appointed 25 commissioners, 55 particular advisers, 72 directors-general, and 12 board members.
He acknowledged the 250 political appointees integrated eight directors-general and 242 senior particular assistants, bringing the general number of political appointees in the notify to 1,700.
The director-general also pushed apart the accusation that the authorities was after Shamsu Shehu, chairman of Marafa Social Media, describing the allegation as “baseless.”
He acknowledged Mr Matawalle’s administration was peace-loving and enables freedom of expression and political association among citizens of the notify.
