Giles, who’s UK director of Continental Bitumen (a part of the French-owned Colas group), takes over from Rick Inexperienced who’s retiring after a 40-year profession and the previous seven years as AIA chair.
Earlier than becoming a member of Continental Bitumen, Giles spent 36 years with Shell, later working as UK basic supervisor for Eurobitume from 2018 to 2021.
He stated: “I’m delighted to have taken over as AIA chair. Over the past seven years, with Rick at its helm, consciousness of the AIA and its actions has grown massively.”
He added: “The AIA is recognised as an authoritative voice on trade points and there’s no doubt that its campaigning has made an affect, with each the primary political events greedy that long term funding horizons are integral to efficient asset administration of the native highway community of their manifestos.”
