Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the immediate past National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), says the Kano State chapter of the party is in full support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid to re-contest in 2027.

He said the state chapter of the party took the decision after a three-day consultative meeting with party stakeholders from the all the 44 Local Government Areas of the state, which was concluded on Sunday.

Addressing journalists, Ganduje said the engagement was aimed at strengthening cohesion within the party as preparations intensify for the 2027 polls.

“As we move towards 2027, there is a need for complete unity in our party, from top to bottom. We must ensure solidarity with the federal government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

He disclosed that party executives and delegates had requested approval to formally endorse President Tinubu as the APC’s sole presidential candidate for the 2027 elections. According to him, all 44 local governments in Kano State will soon organise public events to announce the endorsement.

Ganduje also directed that all APC offices across local governments and wards be made fully functional and accessible, stressing that party structures must remain active at all levels.

On membership matters, he announced the commencement of e-registration of APC members, revealing that each local government is to nominate computer-literate personnel who will be trained at the state headquarters before deployment.

He added that Kano State, which previously recorded the highest number of registered party members during an earlier exercise, is determined to maintain that position during the upcoming digital registration drive.

Ganduje further urged stakeholders to encourage eligible youths who recently turned 18 to register with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of future elections.
