During the latter half of 2025, Gamstop Online, the UK’s self exclusion service, reported a 40 percent increase in sign ups of 16-24 year olds.

The six month duration was the most popular choice among the younger players at 38 percent, while the five year exclusion was the most popular across all age groups, being chosen by 47 percent.
One of the major features of Gamstop that enables users to restrict their access to gambling websites and automatically keeps their accounts blocked unless they opt to come out of self exclusion, has just celebrated its first birthday this December 2025. Gamstop has observed an ongoing increase in the proportion of users who, after requesting a minimum five year exclusion, decide to go for the automatic renewal option. During December, more than half of these users chose the option for auto renewal, thus marking the achievement of a milestone for the first time since the launch.
Gamstop Group CEO Fiona Palmer stated:

In another announcement, Gamstop declared that it has officially added the Multi Operator Self Exclusion Scheme for Betting Shops, or MOSES, to its list of products. Thus, the scheme has been renamed Gamstop Betting Shops which is intended to get the self exclusion online and the Gamstop Betting Shops self exclusion closer to each other.
Previously, Gamstop Betting Shops registration was solely a phone based one, but now users can also register online. Land based program participants have come to be around 9, 000 people.
