Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and Fulham midfielder Alex Iwobi are among the many prime Tremendous Eagles stars who have been honoured on the tenth version of the Nigeria Pitch Awards on Saturday evening, Soccernet.ng reviews.
Hosted on the Ibom Meridien Lodge and Resorts in Uyo hours after Nigeria were held to a 1-1 draw by South Africa, the award evening was a show-stopper of an occasion marking one decade of an attention-grabbing challenge that’s endorsed by the Nigeria Soccer Federation.
Tremendous Eagles ahead Victor Osimhen was the largest winner of the evening as he claimed two awards – Striker of the Yr and King of the Pitch.
Bay FC striker Asisat Oshoala was named the winner of the Queen of the Pitch award, beating the duo of Atletico de Madrid Femenino’s Rasheedat Ajibade and Paris FC goalie Chiamaka Nnadozie to the highest gong.
Nottingham Forest fullback Ola Aina clinched the Defender of the Yr forward of Fulham FC’s Calvin Bassey and Fenerbahce SK’s Vivid Osayi-Samuel.
Within the Goalkeeper of the Yr class, Ojo Olorunleke of Enyimba FC took residence the coveted prize after edging previous Kayode Bankole of Remo Stars and Amas Obasogie Bendel Insurance coverage.
Fulham FC midfielder Alex Iwobi was available to obtain his award after he gained the prize for the Midfielder of the Yr. The previous Arsenal and Everton star claimed the dignity forward of Royal Antwerp’s Alhassan Yusuf and Leicester Metropolis ace Wilfred Ndidi.
