Mainz participant Josuha Guilavogui has thanked referee Patrick Ittrich for probably saving his life throughout a Bundesliga match after his tongue blocked his airway.

Guilavogui suffered a blow to the top from teammate Anthony Caci throughout Saturday’s match at Bayern Munich. The French participant remained immobile on the pitch, unconscious, earlier than Ittrich arrived and put him within the restoration place, then adjusted his tongue so he might breathe once more.

“We should act rapidly, there isn’t a reward to be given,” declared Ittrich afterwards. On Sunday, Guilavogui expressed his gratitude.

“Thanks very a lot for the short intervention and assist offered, Patrick Ittrich, my teammates and the docs in Mainz!”, wrote the defensive midfielder on X. Mainz misplaced 8-1 and stays within the Bundesliga relegation zone.
