Flash flooding hits Gauteng province in South Africa

Lenasia residents use boats to rescue neighbours

Heavy rains throughout Thursday and Friday morning have provoked flash floods in components of Gauteng province in South Africa.

In Lenasia, a suburb south of Soweto, residents rapidly mobilised to reply to cries for assist.

The rise in water ranges left some residents with no selection however to abandon their houses.

Many residents, largely aged, needed to be rescued from the rising waters by members of the group. 

Paramedics have been on web site to assist any victims.

Some native inhabitants criticised the native authorities saying their absence confirmed lack of management.
