FG, UK agency signal MoU for Port Harcourt–Abuja rail line

The Ministry of Transport has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Messrs MPH Rail Improvement Restricted, a United Kingdom firm for the implementation of the Port Harcourt–Enugu–Calabar–Abuja Customary Gauge Rail Line venture below a public-private partnership framework.

Below the MoU, the UK agency will handle the design, building, commissioning, operation, and eventual switch of the Port Harcourt–Enugu–Calabar–Abuja Customary Gauge Rail Line.

The ministry said that the MoU signing adopted the approval of the Define Enterprise Case and the issuance of a compliance certificates by the Infrastructure, Concession, and Regulatory Fee.
