FG shuts Abuja Chinese language Grocery store that discriminates towards Nigerians

The FCCPC says the grocery store will stay sealed if its proprietor fails to seem earlier than the fee tribunal.

The FCCPC officers stormed the grocery store on Monday, April 22, 2024, barely 24 hours after the discriminatory practices of the outlet have been reported on social media by Nigerians.

It was gathered that when officers of the FCCPC visited the grocery store located on the China Common Chamber of Commerce within the FCT, a Chinese language woman working the grocery store, Cindy Liu Bei, had fled.

Liu Bei was mentioned to have fled at 8:26 am together with her household as confirmed on the Closed-Circuit Tv digital camera.

Talking after sealing the outlet, the Director for Surveillance and Investigation, Boladale Adeyinka, affirmed that the proprietor of the grocery store had fled earlier than the arrival of the company’s officers.

She mentioned, “The essence of the surveillance and investigation that we performed at the moment is to confirm the allegations and the content material of that viral video.

“On arrival, we observed that the grocery store which is correct behind me, was sealed and padlocked externally. Inquiries have proven that sure, as this morning this grocery store was open and other people have been right here.

“CCTV footage additionally exhibits that within the morning, two autos departed from these very premises allegedly containing the proprietor of the grocery store, whom we have now been capable of establish by identify and we have now her contact particulars.”

She mentioned the grocery store will stay sealed if its proprietor fails to seem earlier than the fee tribunal.
