The federal authorities on Saturday offered 370.5 metric tonnes of grains to the Sokoto State authorities for distribution to weak households within the state.

Presenting the objects, Mustapha Ahmed, director- normal of the Nationwide Emergency Administration Company (NEMA), stated the gesture adopted President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval.

“In keeping with assessments performed and studies to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Catastrophe Administration and Social Growth, the president accepted the discharge of 12,000 metric tons of varied grains.

“That is from the Nationwide Technique Reserve Inventory for distribution to all states of the federation and FCT.

Mr Ahmed said that Sokoto has been among the many states worst hit by floods in 2022.

Receiving the objects, Governor Aminu Tambuwal recommended the president for his foresight towards easing the hardship of the weak.
