FG Will increase Corps Members’ Allowance to N77,000

The federal authorities has introduced a rise within the month-to-month allowance for corps members to N77,000, efficient July 2024.

This resolution was detailed in a letter from the Nationwide Salaries, Incomes and Wages Fee, dated September 25, 2024, and signed by the Chairman, Mr. Ekpo Nta. The rise aligns with the current enactment of the Nationwide Minimal Wage (Modification) Act 2024.

Previous to this improve, corps members obtained a month-to-month allowance of N33,000, which was set following the minimal wage adjustment to N30,000 in 2019. The brand new minimal wage has been set at N70,000 as per the laws signed into legislation by President Bola Tinubu on July 29, 2024.

Hypothesis concerning the increment in corps members’ pay adopted the approval of the brand new minimal wage, with NYSC administration clarifying that the Federal Authorities would decide any adjustments to the allowance.

In a press release launched by Caroline Embu, the NYSC’s Performing Director of Data and Public Relations, it was revealed that the Director Common of the NYSC, Brigadier-Common Yusha’u Ahmed, had beforehand visited Mr. Ekpo Nta to advocate for higher welfare for corps members.
