FddEx cargo aircraft makes emergency touchdown in Newark after fowl strike

March 1 (UPI) — A FedEx cargo aircraft made an emergency touchdown again to Newark Liberty Worldwide Airport in New Jersey on Saturday morning after a fowl strike triggered one in all its engines to catch fireplace, in line with officers.

FedEx Flight 3609 was touring to Indianapolis when one of many Boeing 767’s engines was hit, the Federal Aviation Administration stated in an announcement to NBC Information.

The jet made an emergency touchdown again on the Newark airport at 8:07 a.m. No accidents have been reported, in line with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

“Our crew declared an emergency and returned safely to Newark,” FedEx stated in an announcement to ABC Information. “We’re grateful for the fast actions of our crew and first responders.”

Air visitors was briefly halted as a precaution.

The Boeing 767-300 twin-engine jet was cleared to make its journey to Indiana at 9:30 a.m., in line with Flight Conscious.

Video posted on X confirmed the engine on fireplace.

Sofiane Zeblah recorded the incident whereas driving and posted it on X.

“I used to be driving and noticed one thing falling after which fireplace begin on the fitting wing engine. I imagine a fowl went by the engine, an enormous fowl,” Zeblah instructed ABC Information. “I used to be in shock. I ended instantly on the turnpike. Fortunately, nothing occurred.”

The cargo aircraft is a Boeing 767-300 twin-jet plane, in line with FlightAware.
