Super Eagles and Coventry City midfielder Frank Onyeka joined the Sky Blue Stars in the winter transfer window, but has been impactful in their promotion to the English Premier League, Soccernet.ng reports.

Although he’s only played 13 games for Frank Lampard’s side, the Brentford loanee has been lauded by Coventry City’s captain Matt Grimes.

Of the 13 fixtures the Nigerian has featured in, eight of them ended in victory, and only one ended in a loss.

Coventry City captain impressed with Frank Onyeka’s input

Speaking ahead of Coventry’s clash against AFC Wrexham tomorrow, the former Leeds United midfielder admitted Onyeka came in to help the club through a period of ‘wobble’.

“He’s been a big addition for us, holding down the middle alongside Jack [Rudoni],” the 30-year-old said in the pre-game conference.

“When we went through a little bit of a mid-season blip in form, when you can bring someone in that has got so much experience, and such a high quality player, it gives the whole place a big boost

“He’s been fantastic. You’ve seen his performances and the energy he gives everyone. He has been a really big part of it,” Matt Grimes concluded.
