Nigerian attacker Chuba Akpom has stated that signing just two players would land Arsenal the Premier League title next season, Soccernet.ng reports.

Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since 2004, but they are looking to end that run. For the last two seasons, the Gunners have put up solid fights for the league title, but they have fallen short, as Manchester City and Liverpool have pipped them to it.

To many fans, Arsenal’s lack of silverware is majorly due to their lack of quality in the final third.

The club have been adamant about signing a new striker, as coach Mikel Arteta has stuck to operating with false nines.

Kai Havertz and Mikel Merino, who have been deployed in those positions on numerous occasions, have failed to deliver consistently.

This summer, the Gunners are expected to make a splurge in the transfer market, and they are expected to sign one attacker at least.

Meanwhile Super Eagles hopeful, Akpom, who is a product of the Arsenal Academy, believes that his former club would need just two signings to win the Premier League, but Super Eagles star Victor Osimhen is not one of them.

“I would love Rodrygo on the left, Gyokeres, and Saka on the right. That front three is deadly, we don’t need any other player,” Akpom told AFCDylan.

Osimhen has been one of the most deadly and consistent strikers in Europe for the last three seasons. He has scored 85 goals and provided 14 assists in 112 club games for Napoli and Galatasaray combined.

The latest on Victor Osimhen is that Liverpool are also monitoring his situation. But no club has made a move yet.

There have also been links to Arsenal, but them seem fixated on Viktor Gyokeres or Benjamin Sesko.

It is still too early though. The transfer market is quite dynamic. And with clubs moving different pieces, the Super Eagles star could still find some space at a top club.

Meanwhile, Chuba Akpom, who spent last season on loan at Lille, has returned to Ajax. However, his future is still in the balance, as he has not been linked to any club. But that could change quickly.

Akpom played for England at youth level, but he has since switched to Nigeria. Unfortunately for him, he is yet to get a Super Eagles call-up.
