Everton manager David Moyes has warned that Everton are “running out of time” to complete the deals they want this summer.
Moyes’ urgency comes as Everton seek to add depth to their squad ahead of the upcoming Premier League season.
Everton have landed four new signings so far, signing young defender Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich, bringing in back-up goalkeeper Mark Travers, completing a permanent deal for Carlos Alcaraz and spending big on attacker Thierno Barry from Villarreal.
Despite these additions, Everton have seen key figures, including Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Ashley Young, and Abdoulaye Doucoure, leave as free agents.

Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s friendly against his former team West Ham, Moyes said: “The truth is we’re not getting a lot of deals over the line at the moment. That’s a fact.
“We’re continuously reassessing and moving on while things have not come to fruition. We’ll keep trying to get the best players we can. We want to challenge to get good players, but we’re finding it quite difficult at the moment.
“We’re desperate to get things moving on because we know time’s running out.”
Over the weekend, Everton were linked with a move for Lyon winger Malick Fofana, while they are also said to be interested in a loan move for Manchester City’s Jack Grealish. Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo is another reported target.
“The one thing I’ll do is I’ll tell the fans straight, and I’m telling it straight at the moment. We’re having a bit of a struggle getting ones in quickly,” Moyes added.
“My first thought is yes, I’m surprised, because I think Everton’s such a big club, with great traditions and the new stadium is an exciting move for us.
“But when you think again about it, we’ve been in or around the relegation positions for the last five years, not far off the bottom, so maybe there’s been reasons for it.”
Everton kick off their 2025-26 Premier League campaign at Elland Road against newly promoted Leeds United on August 18.
