Rafiu Durosinmi’s superb form continued on Wednesday night as the Nigerian striker found the net once again to help Viktoria Plzen secure a 2–0 win over FK Nove Sady and advance to the Czech Cup quarterfinals, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 22-year-old came off the bench and made an instant impact, breaking the deadlock just 14 minutes later with a precise finish that tilted the tie in Plzen’s favour.

Despite spirited resistance from the fourth-division hosts, Plzen maintained control and sealed victory late on through Lukas Červ, confirming their place among the last eight.

There was, however, a brief scare for the visitors when Durosinmi, moments after scoring, limped off with a knock and was replaced by youngster Daniel Suchý.

Head coach Martin Hyský sought to calm fears after the match, saying: “He got a knock right at the restart, I hope he’ll be fine.”

Durosinmi has now scored two goals in the Czech Cup and 11 in all competitions this season, further enhancing his reputation as one of the most consistent young strikers in Eastern Europe.

His continued form could soon attract the attention of Nigeria’s national team boss Eric Chelle, as calls grow for the forward’s first Super Eagles invitation.
