Emefiele presently not in our custody – DSS

The Division of State Providers (DSS) has stated the suspended governor of the Central Financial institution of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, is just not presently in its custody.

President Bola Tinubu had suspended Emefiele on Friday, directing him to instantly switch management of his workplace’s affairs to Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate) of CBN.

The president’s suspension, in accordance with a press release signed by Willie Bassey, Secretary to the Federation’s Director of Data, is a results of the continued investigation into his workplace and deliberate reforms within the monetary sector of the financial system.

After the announcement of Emefiele’s suspension, there have been studies of his arrest by the key police however the DSS failed to reply when contacted.

However in a tweet on Saturday morning, the company stated: “At the moment, Emefiele is just not with the DSS.”

Nonetheless, the DSS did not elaborate on whether or not he was beforehand apprehended.
