The Financial and Monetary Crimes Fee (EFCC) has apprehended six senior officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for alleged involvement in a N6 billion fraud.
The arrest follows an order from Ahmed Audi, the NSCDC Commandant Basic, who directed the handover of the officers to the EFCC for interrogation.
Ola Olukoyede, Chairman of the EFCC beforehand penned a letter to the NSCDC Commandant General, requesting the discharge of the implicated officers for questioning. Subsequently, the officers had been transferred to the EFCC’s headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, the place they had been grilled, in keeping with PUNCH.
Whereas exact particulars of the alleged fraud stay scant, it’s believed to contain monetary misconduct amounting to over N6 billion. The detained NSCDC officers are going through rigorous scrutiny from EFCC investigators to determine their involvement within the purported fraudulent actions.
