Edo State Police Command has arrested 4 armed theft suspects in South Ibie, Agbede, the Etsako West Native Authorities Space of the state.

In a press release, on Monday, by the state command spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, the suspects have been apprehended, on Sunday, at their residence behind Marvel Metropolis, South Ibie, Edo State.

He mentioned, “Edo Police Command, on Sunday, November 20, 2022, arrested 4 suspects over armed theft and illegal possession of a firearm, one cut-to-size domestically made pistol, 10 android telephones and a bike with Reg.No GDE 222-VC.

“The arrested suspects are Umar Sanusi (28 years), Saviour Sunday (23 years), Edeh Samuel (18 years) and Ede Monday (23 years). All of them reside behind Marvel Metropolis, South Ibie, Edo State.

“The arrest was made attainable following a well-laid ambush by the Divisional Police Officer, Agbede and his males alongside the native Vigilante which resulted within the arrest of the primary suspect, one Umar Sanusi as he was driving a bike with one other suspect, one Boniface Junior presently on the run.

“Investigation revealed that the bike, with Reg/NO GDE-222-VC, was earlier robbed from the proprietor, one Abdullahi Nufu at gunpoint behind Marvel Metropolis.

“A search warrant executed on the premises of the suspects led to the restoration of the cut-to-size domestically made pistol, the android telephones and the arrest of the three different suspects,” he added.

In line with Nwabuzor, the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Dankwara, has ordered the rapid switch of the case to the State Legal Investigation Division for a speedy investigation and prosecution of the case
