Dynelectro, a Danish sustainable power options firm, has raised €11 million to develop and deploy its 1-MW dynamic electrolyzer unit (DEU) at European Power’s Danish renewable power facility.
The funding spherical is led by the Export & Import Fund of Denmark (EIFO), Yara Progress Ventures, Vsquared Ventures, PSV Deeptech, The Footprint Agency and the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund.
Complemented by €9 million in grants from the European Innovation Council (EIC) and the Danish Power Know-how Improvement and Demonstration Program (EUDP), plus different regional applications, Dynelectro stated the corporate will make the most of the funds for the event of DEUs from 150-kW prototypes to the commercial-scale totally modular 1-MW models.
The corporate famous that its know-how focuses on next-generation stable oxide electrolysis (SOE) and provides “unparalleled” system efficiency and longevity, including:
“SOE aids decarbonisation in hard-to-abate sectors by effectively producing hydrogen and utilising industrial waste warmth. It helps heavy industries and chemical manufacturing by offering on-site hydrogen, decreasing emissions, and producing artificial fuels and enabling the inexperienced power transition in these sectors. SOE is poised to revolutionise the power sector by enhancing power effectivity, decreasing prices and to facilitate broader renewable integration.”
Dynelectro argued that SOE provides the very best conversion effectivity however has been hindered by its quick lifespan, making it cost-prohibitive. It alleged that its AC:DC know-how addresses this situation, extending SOE lifespan from 2 years to 10 years, thereby aligning it with different electrolyzer applied sciences.
Sune Lilbaek, Chief Government Officer of Dynelectro, commented: “We’re excited to achieve this pivotal stage in our progress. This funding spherical not solely validates our know-how but additionally units the stage for our progress and vital developments in sustainable power typically.”
Christian Winther, Associate, Tech & Trade, EIFO Funding, acknowledged: “We’re happy {that a} Danish firm has cracked the code to make electrolysis extra worthwhile, and the way Dynelectro strengthens Europe’s place as a pioneer in Energy-to-X.”
To notice, the completion of the primary 1-MW unit set up at European Power’s renewable power facility in Denmark is scheduled for the primary half of 2025.
