A middleweight showdown between South Africa‘s Dricus du Plessis and American Brendan Allen is reportedly being targeted for UFC 327, scheduled to take place at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Saturday, 11 April 2026.

While the bout has not yet been officially confirmed by the promotion, sources indicate that the match-up is being lined up to feature on the main card.

Regain his title

If finalised, it would mark the first step for Dricus du Plessis as he looks to regain his title.

The 32-year-old South African lost his most recent bout against Khamzat Chimaev by unanimous decision at UFC 319 in Chicago on 16 August 2025.

Prior to that, Du Plessis had defended his middleweight title against Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland in Perth and Sydney, respectively.

Du Plessis had won the middleweight title after beating Strickland in Toronto, Canada in January 2024.

Du Plessis quickly established himself as one of the most dominant fighters in the division, known for his relentless pace, physicality and finishing ability.

Dangerous challenge

Meanwhile, Allen, 30, nicknamed “All In”, enters the reported match-up as a dangerous and well-rounded challenge, with a strong grappling game and a reputation for durability.

A bout against Dricus du Plessis would be the biggest test of his career to date.

Allen is coming off a TKO (corner stoppage) win over Dutch MMA fighter Reinier de Ridder in his most recent bout on 18 October 2025.

UFC 327 is expected to be one of the promotion’s major events of the year, with Miami once again hosting a high-profile fight card.

An official announcement from the UFC regarding the aforementioned fight is – hopefully – expected in the coming weeks.

UFC 327 confirmed fights to date:

  • Light heavyweight bout: Dominick Reyes vs Johnny Walker
  • Women’s strawweight bout: Tatiana Suarez vs Loopy Godinez
  • Light heavyweight bout: Azamat Murzakanov vs Paulo Costa
