Deputy governor funds of Edo

The disaster between Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and his deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu is enjoying out within the 2024 funds of the state with the workplace of the deputy governor receiving a paltry N300m as in comparison with billions obtained previously.

. experiences that the N300m annual funds allocation for 2024 pales to the N650m allotted to the workplace of the Edo deputy governor within the second quarter of 2022.

The allocation to the deputy governor’s workplace is significantly beneath what was offered for different principal workplaces of the federal government.

. experiences that apart from the poor allocation to the deputy governor for 2024 that Comrade Shaibu has not too long ago complained that he has not obtained his wage and allocation to the workplace for about six months.

The 2024 funds was signed into legislation within the night of  Friday,  December 15, 2023.

   It was gathered that some lawmakers believed to be loyal to the deputy governor opposed the choice of the members of the meeting to go the funds as introduced by the governor which they mentioned was an “unfair appropriation” however that they have been overwhelmed by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Blessing Agbebaku and others.

  A peep into the funds as handed confirmed that the sum of N19, 148, 177, 584 was accepted for the governor whereas the deputy governor was allotted the sum of N345, 522,729.

  The workplace of the Secretary to State Authorities (SSG) had N8, 847, 647, 676, workplace of the Head of Service (HoS) N968, 000, 000 whereas the Home of Meeting had the sum of N13, 074, 500, 000.

  A politician near the governor mentioned the camp of the governor has taken a vow to ridicule and  punish Shaibu financially in a bid to frustrate his governorship aspiration.
