Could Remedy Reveal Control Resonant for PS5 at The Game Awards Next Month? 1

We’re in that window just a few weeks prior to The Game Awards where some publishers are hyping up their announcements – and others are just leaking online.

Case in point: industrious fans have discovered a trademark application by Finnish studio Remedy for Control Resonant.

To give credit where it’s due, the application was actually filed by a firm named Nordia Attorneys at Law, which MP1st notes is the same organisation behind all of the Max Payne maker’s trademarks.

Considering the name association and the fact that the application lists “video game services” among its tags, it’s fairly easy to put two-and-two together.

Although, while we know the dev has been working on a sequel for some time, a recent roadmap showed that it’s investing the bulk of its energy into its Max Payne remakes with Rockstar for now.

This could be related to Control’s television adaptation with Annapurna, then, which would also potentially be a good fit for an announcement at The Game Awards to be honest.

The show’s set to get underway on 11th December, so we won’t have to wait long to find out.
