MV Gan Jiang Kou, the latest LNG dual-fuel pure automobile and truck provider (PCTC) owned by COSCO Transport Specialised Carriers, a unit of China’s COSCO Transport Group, has formally set sail on its maiden voyage.

Following the latest naming ceremony, the 200-meter-long Gan Jiang Kou launched into its first voyage on September 24, transporting 4,500 automobiles from Shanghai, China to Southeast Africa.

“This voyage marks a significant contribution to the continued financial and commerce cooperation between China and Africa,” COSCO Transport stated in a social media assertion.

The vessel is scheduled to cease on the Port of Durban in South Africa and Dar es Salaam in Tanzania within the coming days.

COSCO Transport’s latest PCTC is powered LNG dual-fuel expertise to spice up its environmental efficiency and transport effectivity and is a part of the corporate’s dedication to sustainability and “adheres to the best worldwide eco-friendly requirements”, in response to the shipowner.

Trying forward, COSCO Transport, via its three way partnership with SIPG Logistics and Anji Logistics, is anticipating supply of six 7,500 CEU dual-fuel LNG automobile carriers in 2025 and 2026.
