The Nigerian Correctional Service, NCoS, in Katsina, has recaptured two awaiting trial inmates who had beforehand escaped from the Medium Safety Custodial Centre in Katsina on October 17, 2023.

Following their escape, a joint effort involving varied safety businesses was swiftly launched to trace down the fugitives.

An announcement launched on Wednesday by ASC Najibullah Idris, the Public Relations Officer of the Katsina Command, disclosed that the primary escapee, Ibrahim Muhammad Lawal, also called Abba Kala, had been arrested earlier by means of the collaborative efforts of the search occasion.

He famous that NCoS took decisive measures, utilising each technological means just like the e-tracking mechanism and a mix of overt and covert intelligence gathering to find the second escapee, Musa Isah. Thankfully, the efforts culminated within the profitable recapture of Isah within the Kaduna metropolis on December 19, 2023.

The Katsina State Command of NCoS emphasised that each escapees are actually securely again in custody.
