Noki Noki, a Congolese logistics startup that provides meals supply and grocery store procuring companies, has raised $3 million in seed funding. The startup, which operates in six nations, will use the funding to scale its operations throughout these markets and solidify its presence in new markets together with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The funding spherical, led by Uma Ventures, displays continued investments in Congolese startups which account for a lot of the funding within the Central Africa area. In 2023, the country raised $62 million in enterprise capital funding, making it the most important contributor to startup funding progress in Central Africa.
Launched in 2021 by Jonathan Yanghat, the startup supplies logistic options together with Noki Meals for meal supply, Noki Drive for grocery store procuring, and Noki Pay, an built-in cost interface for its supply merchandise. The corporate, which serves over 10,000 customers, claims it recorded over 1 billion CFA francs ($167 million) in transactions in 2023.
“We began the journey with a number of bikes and a transparent ambition: to revolutionize supply and e-commerce on the continent. This funding brings us nearer to our aim of turning into a reference in last-mile supply in Africa,” Jonathan Yanghat, CEO and co-founder stated in an announcement.
The logisitic startup is competing with an inventory of logistics startups—Wikko, Vanoma, Sualoo— in Central Africa’s rising last-mile supply market. Africa’s last-mile supply market is experiencing an annual progress of 8.45% and is ready to generate $2.35 billion by 2030, per information from Straits Research.
“Jonathan Yanghat and his crew have demonstrated a eager understanding of the sector’s wants and a capability to thrive as market leaders. Their imaginative and prescient coincides with our technique of constructing tech-enabled infrastructure, which is why we’re proud to accompany them of their progress,” Vinay Vaswani, founding father of Uma Ventures stated.
