The Central Financial institution of Nigeria (CBN) on Friday disclosed it bought a cumulative quantity of 148 million {dollars} to authorised sellers within the Nigerian International Alternate Market (NFEM).

In response to Mrs Hakama Sidi-Ali, performing Director, Company Communications Division of the apex financial institution, the transactions have been performed on Monday and Tuesday to offer liquidity to the FX market.
Sidi-Ali, disclosed that the CBN bought FX to 29 authorised vendor banks at alternate charges between N1,470 to at least one greenback and N1,510 to at least one greenback.
Sidi-Ali reiterated the dedication of the CBN Governor, Yemi Cardoso, to stabilising the international alternate market.
In response to her, Cardoso has assured that the CBN will proceed to handle the FX provide hole to make sure market stability.
