Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has revealed where Fulham faltered in their 2-0 loss to Everton yesterday, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Cottagers secured their league win in five games against Wolverhampton Wanderers last week, sealing a 3-0 win over Tolu Arokodare’s side at Craven Cottage.

However, the search for their first away win continues as goals from Idrissa Gana Gueye and Michael Keane sealed three points for David Moyes’ side at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Fulham are now in dangerous waters, standing just one point above the relegation spots after winning three games from eleven in the league this season.

Bassey states where Fulham went wrong

With both of Everton’s goals coming from aerial situations, the former Rangers defender revealed his side have to do better when it comes to defending set-pieces.

“I mean, we knew this game was going to be a fight. Beto, Barry, they’re all fighters, and they made life difficult for us,” the 25-year-old told Sporty TV.

“We were prepared, and I just got a little knock, but I’m fine.

“We’ve got to do better at set-pieces. We’ve conceded 16 goals — 10 of them have been from personal errors or set-pieces, we got to do better”

“I just think we could’ve been more dynamic, maybe in the first half. We could’ve controlled the game better.

“We had control, and we just kind of lost control again, and I mean, we just have to do better in set-pieces.

“We’ve conceded 16 goals, and 10 of them have been from set-pieces or personal errors, so we’ve got to do better.

“Now, it’s time to go away, and for the boys to focus on the national team.

“It gives everyone a chance to breathe before we get on and back in the Prem,” Calvin Bassey concluded.
